Leatherworking Tools From Japan?

Recommended Posts

Hi. This is my first time posting. I've been looking to pick up some more stamping type tools. Bevelers, background, veiners, seeders, etc. I'm on a limited budget and I found a web site http://www.leathercrafttools.com/

They look to be out of Japan and the prices seem very low. Low enough to make me a little wary kind of low. Has anyone ever ordered from them? I couldn't find any reviews on them so I was hoping someone here might have some experience with them.

Craft Japan, Seiwa or Kyoshee Elle are all good brands. I own quite a few of their tools. Their swivel knives are smooth. Just be careful with the shipping costs. Choose air mail if you can can or expect a month waiting time.

If you go to GOODS JAPAN all their prices are inclusive of posting . Only order one item at a time and you will keen under the customs minimum , of have had lots from them and all excellent quality.

I love to get fabric and sewing tools from Japan- I would not hesitate at these. I use EMS whenever possible for shipping. When I order off Taobao, I usually get my stuff within 3 weeks from ordering, and that includes time to my agent.

Goods Japan overcharges......by a LOT.

http://www.leathercrafttools.com/ has much of the same stuff at much better prices and also cheaper shipping charges. I've been quite happy with their service and quality of their tools and materials when I've ordered from them. I've pretty much started ordering everything I can from them after being repeatedly disappointed by US sellers.

Thank you all so much for the replies and information! 25b, do you have to be careful about how many items you order at a time due to customs? I was considering ordering several stamps.

I've ordered some pricy kits from them and never charged a Customs fee. You're mileage may vary, as always.
