Members LLWork Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) Made this up for a local shop that was finally able to get my motorcycle running again. The guy wanted it so big(and... strangely shaped) so it would cover the holes from a large denim patch that used to be on the back of the jacket. All designed, All tooled, All dyed, And all sewn up Edited January 22, 2015 by LLWork Quote

Members LLWork Posted January 22, 2015 Author Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) Nice job! Cool logo, your design? After seeing your specialty section, that means a lot! They have a pretty simple design for their logo, it's just the SCB with the handlebars. I added the chain and sprocket. Edited January 22, 2015 by LLWork Quote
Members Tramps Leatherworking Posted January 22, 2015 Members Report Posted January 22, 2015 I do hand carved/tooled leather biker patches also --- they should incorporate your changes to their logo, and something tells me they will... Again, nice job! Quote
Members a2jacketpatches Posted January 23, 2015 Members Report Posted January 23, 2015 Very nice, very sharp detail. How long did this take? Quote
Members LLWork Posted January 23, 2015 Author Members Report Posted January 23, 2015 Very nice, very sharp detail. How long did this take? Thanks! It took me quite some time to do this one. It was my first patch, and it's 16 inches wide and a foot tall. I'd guess somewhere like 10 hours? It was a little while ago. Quote
Members a2jacketpatches Posted January 23, 2015 Members Report Posted January 23, 2015 The reason I asked because it looks like a very long day. But 10 hours surprises me, I thought to be longer. I did a couple of similar but much smaller patches some time back, the price I got for them was not near enough so I don't offer tooled much and would only consider if asked for it. Hope you were paid appropriately for such a big job and outstanding results. Quote

Hope you were paid appropriately for such a big job and outstanding results. It could have been longer, I honestly didn't really keep track as it was a trade I made for getting my motorcycle running again. I had already spent $1,000, an entire year, and used four other mechanics who failed, so I was really happy when these guys told me they would accept my work as payment. I do remember that I bought a big ol' backgrounding tool that made that entire "inside" area a breeze, but I decided after this that my only job is to complete the patch. The sewing took forever, so I nixed that. Quote
