I bought a used solo motorcycle seat. It shows some signs of wear (scuffing) and fading. Can I sand the rough spots then dye it again the same color (black)?

any issues I might run into?

I think it's made from synthetic glove leather, it could be vinyl, not sure.

Thanks

Tony

Not sure if sanding is a good idea. Since you're not sure if its leather or vinyl maybe some polish will darken up the scratches. I would try it first before doing anything else.

OK. The underside has some of the covering that is not exposed, I'll do some tests on it before proceeding.

Chances are it is vinyl, and if so I would recommend Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabric coating...

I found the seat on mustangs web site and ask what the covering is made of and how to re-color it if needed.

It's made of 100% expandable vinyl.
