Do yall dye and then sew or sew and then dye. I have heard both ways of doing it. When handsewing that is.

I dye, buff off the residue, cut the sewing grooves, then sew. Otherwise, you'll dye the thread and it won't dye evenly. If you're using black thread, it probably doesn't matter, but I like the white thread.

When do I dye? Usually about an hour before the customer calls and asks about another color.

No, really, I've done it both ways, and the getting everything dyed first makes it a lot easier to get the dye even.
