DS STRAPS Report post Posted March 26, 2015 Was checking out the John Fong web site after reading another post and ran into an image of turkey leather that look pretty nice in texture. Wondering if anyone knew where to get such a thing? I did a quick search and nothing came up, thanks for the help!

TexasLady Report post Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) I already love this Thread. And it's funny enough that I'll even tell you my 'failure' story. Having had moderate success at tanning salmon skins, I wondered what else the grocery store might have that I could tan. Ah, turkey skins! So,...hmmm, all the grocery store had was 'smoked turkey legs'. I bought one and, after removing the skin from the flesh, had a terrible time trying to remove the fat from the skin. It tore into little pieces. In the end, bbq sauce, like biglew said, would have been the best option. I'll try tanning turkey again, but raw turkey skin, not smoked. Funny story TexasLady, let me know if you have any success with raw turkey
