Members inn3rs3lf Posted April 8, 2015 Members Report Posted April 8, 2015 Good day all, I have taken a keen interest in this here leather thing, and have enjoyed perusing the site for the past day or two. So much so that today I went out and bought $200 worth of tools and some veg tan leather to try and have a go with. I must say though, being in South Africa, finding quality leather is extremely difficult. It as taken numerous emails and phone calls to try and source a simple veg tan hide, and only 2 places in the country sell that I can find. Why this is so is beyond me, especially when we have cows and goats and and and for days! So after my little outing, I have tried my hand on a quick card holder. It is extremely rough, but with proper tools, I believe I can make this work Just seriously need to find leather worthwhile buying. I have actually started scouting online in the States to see if anyone ships here...would seriously love some Horween stuff. Heck, anything that will make a premium wallet. Anyway, enough ramblings, I will bring my needs to the forum in another thread, but for now I say... HOWZIT! Quote

Africa..........now I don't know it they have veg tan available or not, seems to be they specialize in shoe leather.............( huh !!!! Your plan might need to extend to importing leather - usually, Australia has a pretty poor leather selection, too, so I bring it all in from the US. Quote
