Bishop Zed Report post Posted April 12, 2015 Hi to all here from Co Durham. My name's Jim & I'm returning to Leatherwork after a 15 year break having been into it throughout the 90s and stopped around 2000. I mainly concentrated on motorcycle luggage & accessories as biking & the associated lifestyle is a passion of mine, but I really hoping to broaden my range of abilities.I hope to pick up my skills again quickly. I'm in a couple of Facebook groups & the standard of workmanship seen there is literally mind-bending.So... right now I'm off to have a look at some of the no doubt fantastic works of art here. splitrail Report post Posted April 12, 2015 Hi Jim, welcome. Hope you kept all of your tools! UK leather workers are top notch!
Bishop Zed Report post Posted April 12, 2015 Aye, cheers Splitrail. Unfortunately all my tools were 'lost' around 2001. I'm in the process of re-stocking.and really enjoying the retail therapy of it. lolI'm more pretty damn good (on a good day) than 'top notch', but I aim for that. Good to meet another biker and leatherworker.
OdinUK Report post Posted April 12, 2015 Welcome to the forum Jim. Im into bikes too but have not made a bike seat yet is is ony list of things to do. When I need new tools I now order from Gomph Hackbarth or Bary King in the US, and knives from Leather Wranglers, all of which I highly recommend.
