errigal Report post Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) Hi can someone tell me more about this machine? I can find out a fair bit about the sth-8bld-3 but not a lot on this earlier model. I'm assuming it would be ok for leather car seats? Also while I have the attention of the mighty brain power on here can you help me identify this adler :-) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171776608185 It also looks like something that would suit my needs. Which machine would be best? Edited May 3, 2015 by errigal
errigal Report post Posted May 3, 2015 OK I got all excited and bought the seiko (fingers crossed). Will torture you all with more questions when I get it. Dunno what size needle it takes or thread size or anything - it's great to be green
errigal Report post Posted May 4, 2015 (edited) OK I'm at the end of my tether I think i just got gazumped on the seiko. I had transferred money and organised a courier and the seller emails me to say the motor is solid and refunds my money. I'm so desperate now I'm considering a joys pf5318. http://www.ace-apparelcraftequipment.co.uk/Industrial%20Showroom%20Models/ACE-5318ShowroomModel.jsp Nasty feedback on the company that sells em everywhere on the net but who knows maybe I could get lucky? The only other option I can see out there is a singer 211g156 at 500 pounds Any opinions? Edited May 4, 2015 by errigal
brmax Report post Posted May 4, 2015 Slow down a bit, keep an eye out around the City edges. I guess a 211 all crated up with plywood and structure might weight that, sounds about right. A walking foot and high clearance with reverse, a servo motor will knock off a lot of weight. good day there
errigal Report post Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) thanks brmax. sorry I should have said pounds sterling instead of lbs. :-) (approx $756) Do you think the singer would be suitable for auto upholstery. Would it leave marks on the leather? It looks like a seriously solid machine Edited May 5, 2015 by errigal
errigal Report post Posted May 6, 2015 Ok got a highlead gc0318-1. Picking it up on saturday fingers crossed
Darren Brosowski Report post Posted May 15, 2015 GC0318 is a reasonable machine. Just check the feet as some have rather nasty serrations and you need smoothe feet.
