Members Otto6294 Posted May 7, 2015 Members Report Posted May 7, 2015 My daughter wanted a simple holster to put her gun in. This is my first inlay. I got the alligator print from an old purse. Some mistakes. My maker's mark nearly disappeared when I water molded the gun to the holster, so I put it on the belt strap. It is very chunky....has a sight rib welt. 4oz+8oz+4oz+8 oz+4oz+8oz= 36oz thick on the edges. I measure 11/16 of an inch. Friction fit. The mag release area was recessed by wet forming with a small scrap of leather tucked in that area. Sturdy little holster and the gun looks good in it. I have not edge coated or sprayed it yet. Quote

Members BigMatt Posted May 7, 2015 Members Report Posted May 7, 2015 That is a good looking holster. What did you use to punch the holes? That is a lot of leather at the welt! Quote https://tiekenleather.wordpress.com/
Members Otto6294 Posted May 7, 2015 Author Members Report Posted May 7, 2015 1/16ths drill bit followed by a good sized awl. Back doesn't look to bad, I tried to hold the drill as straight as I could. I don't have a drill press. I need to get a small one. Quote
