Hello!

My grandfather had a shiny knife that hung on his wall:

From what I have been told it was made in Narva prison by the inmates and then gifted to him, but from my family history I also know that we had relatives in New Zealand.

It is made sometime after 1945.

To me it seems to be factory made, but I have not seen another like it.
The odd thing is that neither "Interarms" or "Tiger" produce results, so prison-made knockoff seems to be a legit idea.

Any help is welcome!

Mark.

Neat sheath! I agree with you, doesn't look handmade as far as the design goes but still cool!

You could also try this website & forum; they have a historical section. Although it says 'british' they have members from all over the world

You say 'had a shiny knife'; do you still have it? If not, and you can sketch it, you will probably find someone there who could make a replacement, if you wish.

The knife I still have, but no grandpa and now it is on a shelf. :P

The knife also leads to a dead end, but since leather is more distinct and ornamented I figured you might be of more assistance.

Will try, thank you!
