Members Widget Posted June 29, 2015 Members Report Posted June 29, 2015 Hey guys, Have never lined anything before and need some advice before I start. I'm planning on a guitar strap with light stamping and 4 star conchos, lined on the back in pigskin. Here are my specific questions: 1) Do I do anything other than contact cement and saddle stitch to attach the pigskin? 2) How do I finish edges on the strap? Should I do all of that before attaching the lining? How would I bevel once the lining in attached? 3) What am I missing? Thanks for any advice! -Widget Quote
King's X Posted June 29, 2015 Report Posted June 29, 2015 Depending on the person wearing it, you want to consider a lining resistant to sweat. You can finish the edges before you add the lining, but I would do it after adding my liner. Quote
Members thekid77 Posted June 29, 2015 Members Report Posted June 29, 2015 hey there, after contact cementing it'd b a good idea to get a roller and go over the entire surface to help ensure a good bond between the leathers....also, I would edge after attaching the liner Quote
