Members DavidL Posted July 2, 2015 Members Report Posted July 2, 2015 Im trying to get into a shoe making or saddle making assistant (specific part of making like stitching, cutting, assembling only) in the Toronto area. However the requirement is 1-5 years minimum to get a consideration for the new job opening. Where does one start for shoe making or saddle making to be able to have the requirement for entry level jobs doing the tasks like aligning leather pieces, clicking leather, working specific tasks. King's X Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Books or an academy/school for either plus some work. Quote
electrathon Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Being in Canada things are a little different, but I would suggest you talk to Bill Shannor at Bonnie and Wills in Ashland Oregon for guidance on the shoemaking side. It is almost a dead art anymore, but is experiencing a growing interest. Quote
