janetwilson Report post Posted July 4, 2015 Hello everyone! I have been visiting this forum for a few months, but finally decided to join in the fun. There is a wealth of information here. I appreciate everyone's freedom in sharing sources and tips and techniques - it's refreshing!!! I have been making cuffs and wrap bracelets for about 3 years. I had a slow start, but I am at a point where I would like to start putting my brand/stamp on the back of my designs. I research the heck out of things before I jump in to purchase, so I'd like some opinions. What is the best way to do this? I've seen some sponsored ads above the forums for different companies who make custom stamps or branding irons, etc. Are they legit? What has been your experience with the companies? All advice and sources are very much appreciated! I look forward to hearing from you all!
25b Report post Posted July 4, 2015 Stay away from the delrin stamps...won't hold up to heat to brand with...
carver Report post Posted July 6, 2015 if your stamp has a lot of detail the steel stamps hold up well and can give great detail the delrin also work well but wont hold up as long. Delrin are cheaper to buy both of these would be to make an impression in the leather. I wouldnt try branding with a stamp .
25b Report post Posted July 6, 2015 You can brand with a stamp just fine...just make sure it's steel or brass.
