Members bc1984 Posted July 24, 2015 Members Report Posted July 24, 2015 Good afternoon! I'm the collections manager at a museum. I'm working on an inventory of historic tools, and I've come across a piece that I'd like some help identifying. The attached image has been identified as either an "embroidery machine" or a leather hole puncher. Would you mind taking a look and telling me what you think it might be or if the pieces are related to leather making?Thank you kindly for your time! Quote
Members Geneva Posted July 28, 2015 Members Report Posted July 28, 2015 I think this is a tool for repairing the carpet. Just my 2 cents Quote
Members chrstn53 Posted August 5, 2015 Members Report Posted August 5, 2015 Someone on ebay is selling something similar and they have it listed as a hidden stitch tool for saddle making, but I have no idea if that is correct. The tool is so big it seems like it would be used for some other trade. There is a tool guy on this forum named Bruce Johnson who might know what it is.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HIDDEN-STITCH-SADDLE-HARNESS-COBBLERS-TOOL-HAND-MADE-LEATHER-WORKING-/311417020529?hash=item4881e6a071 Quote
