Constabulary Report post Posted October 17, 2015 I got this strap cutter in a lot I bought from an old upholstery shop that went out of business. It´s the only leather tool in that lot but I don´t know much about the vinatge tools so I wonder if someone knows the maker. Some pictures
penguineer Report post Posted October 17, 2015 Given that the gauge markings appear to be metric, I'd guess French/European for a start...... Cheers!
25b Report post Posted October 17, 2015 That's called a plough gauge. Might help you find more info about who made it if you have the right name of the tool. Looks similar to mine and mine is a Blanchard.
Constabulary Report post Posted October 17, 2015 Holy smokes - do they really cost about $400? I had no Idea Haven´t figured the maker yet but they all look pretty much identlical. Some have more steel parts but most are about the same style. errr -someone interested in it?
25b Report post Posted October 17, 2015 Uhh...I didn't pay that much for mine and mine came with an extra blade... But I guess it's worth whatever you can get someone to pay for it.
Constabulary Report post Posted October 17, 2015 Well, the few straps I probably would cut with it are worth buying cut to my specs so I think selling it is probably the better deal for me. Some one interested in it $200 incl worldwide shipping? Send me PM.
penguineer Report post Posted October 17, 2015 Theres a marking on the left hand side of the blade(pic 3) that I went looking for...I guess that's the makers mark.....someone that knows a bit more might know what that means. Looks in very good condition! Cheers!
bruce johnson Report post Posted October 17, 2015 If you are serious about selling it for $200 shipped, then consider it sold to me. Please send me a PM about payment details
simontuntelder Report post Posted October 21, 2015 The maker is German. I think it was called Rossler or Rössler. I have plenty of tools from the same maker and they're good. Has it sold?
