Background Stamp Suggestions Please

I'm wondering what background stamps you could recommend? The only one I have is a 104. It is very small and in not able to blend in areas very smoothly. I'm thinking about the 105 but it looks pretty small also. I appreciate any suggestions.

What size of area are you trying to cover as background?

Various sizes. Usually 1 to 3 inches

I had to search out my tools. I have a 104 as well and its pretty tiny. I have a G619 which has the same pattern but is approx 1cm [3/8''] square, it covers about 10x the area of the 104. But I've checked on the Tandy site and the place where I got my 619 and its no longer listed - so thats no help to you.

I don't know where you are located, but here is link to the place I buy from; the B series has some larger background stamps. However they are finer and bevelled.

The G605 is about the size I'm looking for but not sure how they would look if I used them side by side. The indentations look much bigger on the

G605. B803 might be my best bet. What do you think?

I use an A104 as one of my go to backgrounders. The technique with the A104 is to slightly rotate it as you strike it. You want an even and seamless waffle pattern background. If I want a deeper background, I will bust out my third go to tool, A98 & A99 before I use the A104. On some occasions, I will use the A98 & A99 before I use my first go to tool.....my #35 Barry King bargrounders.

It does take some practice to run an even A104, but it can be done. I would keep the area to the suggested dimensions provided above.
