Discdog15 Report post Posted December 11, 2015 I've been working with leather off and on for 30 years. I have never had this problem before. I carve out my design, then I stain it. When I go to paint with the acrylics the stain bleeds through the paint coming to the surface changing the color I want. Can anyone help me? No matter what I have done it continues to come through the paint.
Jaymack Report post Posted December 11, 2015 After the stain dries overnight, I seal it with 2 coats of Resolene and let it dry overnight before I paint with acrylics.
Erystawi Report post Posted December 11, 2015 I often do the acrylic paint before the stain, covering the acrylic with a resistant so it does not absorbe the stain or antique. Maybe experiment with have a resistant over stain before painting areas? Eva
