Hi - *Warning* Newbie here *Warning*!

I've come across this machine and am trying to determine exactly what it is I have. I know it is a leather sewing machine of sorts. The closest thing I could find similar to it is this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Industrial-Leather-Sewing-Machine-Vintage-/161824192769?hash=item25ad793901%3Ag%3APHMAAOSwEetV9E2c&nma=true&si=jCtMFBdmUfgrjb0N1W32gxo%252BZA0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 (scroll down to see it).

I took as many pics as I thought would be of assistance. Does anyone have any clues or maybe point me in the right direction to continue hunting?

Great, thanks for the input!

Yeah, I do not plan on making shoes, at least for now :). Does this machine hold any value (i.e. $2-300?+) if I were to attempt selling it? It is in working condition. It looks like the Landis machines are priced quite a bit higher, but since I can't really find any info on this I have zero clue on to what it's worth.

The most you can hope for is that a shoe repair shop may offer to haul it away for the price you'd get at a scrap yard. But, you never know. Somebody, somewhere may be reading this and thinking: "I wish I had that machine!"

Wiz - yes, I´m actually one of the idjits thinking "I wish I had that machine!" I have no use for it but I love these heavy cha-ching machines but I guess it does not fit in flat rate envelope so it has to stay where it is.

Are you sure it is in working condition? Sometimes people think when the wheel is spinning and some parts are moving up and down it is in working condition. Working condition means that this machine can actually sew. Have you tried it?

Look for Goodyear, Landis, Champion, McKay or maybe USM or Rapid sole or outsole stitchers I´m sure sooner or later you´ll find your machine at one of the shoe machine dealers.

Maybe Shoe Machines UK or Pilgrim Shoe & Sewing Machine Co is a good source for you.

Idiot number 2 here. I looked at the pictures and went "oooooooh, a new toy!". Sadly, I think my postman would stop talking to me if he had to lug that to my house.

Hope it finds a good home.

I am 100% sure you could get a price like you mentioned for it. If it was located in Holland I would get the machine today.

Sole stitchers are cool machines. Don't have any use for it though.

Maybe a knive sheat once a year.

I actually would have a use for a curved needle and awl machine. I guess I am also one of the idiots that don't know when to leave well enough alone.

Yes,it's a Champion Shoe machine,if you buy it you should try to get a couple more so you'll have parts as the (parts) were discontinued years ago.And the aftermarket never made them like they do for the Landis #12.

Wow, active forum here, nice! Thanks for the information everybody. I'll do some more digging and see what else I can learn about it. Might be able to find someone that works on these too that can tell me exactly what kind of shape it is in.

Also searching to find out more about this machine -- thought I'd post pictures so someone esle might be able to benefit in the future.
