I picked up a late 1800's clark spool cabinet with 6 drawers and a leather top desk. I've gotten the vinyl off of it. got it about ready for a new leather top. now I have a nice pc of horse hide I've had for years black thought of using that . or is were there a more suitable leather . I want the leather to be correct for the period . its not like I'm going to use it. every one I see on line uses leather no vinyl also online are the old desks with the gold leaf on the trim. this I don't want. horse hide was used in in the beginning to line stump sockets in BK and AK lower limb prosthetic legs and some arms. thin very strong and soft or am I over thinking this?
