smusser Report post Posted December 20, 2015 here is a caiman tail inlay sheath i just finished. this is the first time ive used exotic, and basically i just wanted to try it. The inlay is "scrap" tail i picked up from springfield, 3/4 oz sandwiching it on front and back. the back is 5/6 oz. The knife is a Ontario knife company Air Force pilot survival knife. the original sheath has a stone holder on the front of it with a badly placed rivet that scratches the blade every time it goes in and out. after i finished it i noticed a couple of things i could have done different like a retention strap, and the edges could use some work. but over all i am pleased with the way it came out. as always critics are welcome and appreciated
stu925 Report post Posted December 20, 2015 Very nice. I've never worked with any exotics and honestly my work is generally built for hard use so I probably never will. Good work. Stu
