SempliceLeatherWorks Report post Posted January 8, 2016 So bare with my first post and I hope I am posting in the right section, I have been making martingale dog collars for some time now but I would like to add to my list of options. I have been attempting to make a wider martingale collar with a faux fur padding. I chose faux rabbit as it had the lowest nap I could find. I am having a heck of a time making it work though, I have been folding the fur in so the edges would look finished but the fur pulls thru with the thread on the leather side. Has anyone worked with this or done something similar? Should I not fold the fur over? Any help would be awesome.
zekest Report post Posted January 11, 2016 I'm neither an expert, nor do I have experience in doing this. That said, would it be possible to glue the rabbit fur to a very thin leather, then roll the edges of that "composite", and sew that to the inside of the martingale dog collar?
