Members jtweatherford Posted February 13, 2016 Members Report Posted February 13, 2016 That is awesome! I like how that looks. Is the elephant hide different to work with than say veg tan? If it is different, in what ways is it different? I've never done anything different than cow hide. Quote
Members robb01 Posted February 13, 2016 Author Members Report Posted February 13, 2016 It's a bit different, but works fairly the same, It's a bit "stretchier" but didn't have any issues cutting it, the edges took a bit different pressure to edging, it's def. not smooth like the cow leather I'm used to, it required firmer more consistent pressure with an edge beveller. It finished nearly the same, water/saddle soap/edgekote/beeswax combo worked really well. Quote
Members jtweatherford Posted February 15, 2016 Members Report Posted February 15, 2016 Very cool! Thanks for the info. One of these days I will branch out and start doing some exotic leathers. Quote
