Gold Initials Without Embossing Machine

As the title says. Is it possible to make gold initials without having an embossing machine?

What I want to achieve is something like this:

Paint it with gold flaked paint.

Something that I will be trying out is using acrylic calligraphy ink, then finishing with resolene.

I have the ink from doing calligraphy as another hobby, and with the fact that so many leather products are so similar to other acrylic art supplies, I'm going to give it a shot. It probably won't be soon, but I'll try to remember to post a sample when I do it.

There are plenty of info if you google or youtube it. Traditional bookbinding techniques for hot foiling. You still need tools though, and it's a steep learning curve. In many cases people find it cheaper and easier to go to a printer/bookbinder to have it done, especially if it's only for a individual piece or a small run.
