Members Fat Dog Leather Posted February 29, 2016 Members Report Posted February 29, 2016 Need some advice please... My Pfaff 145-P-6C sews beautiful until it skips random stitches. Usually in prominent locations! Leather material used is 3 - 5 oz in weight, thread 69 top & bottom, needle 190LR - 125/20. Tried a larger needle with same results. Machine was recently serviced, no issues noted. It has been around a while used hard in a canvas factory. Any suggestions on what to try as I am very frustrated. Thanks!!! Members TinkerTailor Posted February 29, 2016 Members Report Posted February 29, 2016 One thing that can cause this is not enough foot pressure, if the work lifts the foot because the needle is in a tight spot, thread tension could momentarily get released, causing the skipped stitch. Moderator Wizcrafts Posted March 1, 2016 Moderator Report Posted March 1, 2016 Another cause of skipped stitches can be glue or double sided leather tape clogging the eye of the needle.
