ZachP Report post Posted March 22, 2016 Ok so I know this topic has been mentioned many times. I more have questions about the specific products I'm using. Almost everything I make is veg tan leather dyed with Eco flo professional water stain and can't have dye rubbing off on people, such as wallets, motorcycle seats etc. With that in mind can I apply dye then Aussie conditioner and last the Eco flo professional finish? The employees at Tandy told me to finish first then apply conditioner but I feel like no conditioner is being absorbed if I finish first. But if I condition first will the finish still work? Sorry if I'm just repeating an old question I just couldn't find anything about the specific products I've been using
CraftyNick Report post Posted June 17, 2016 This is a good question, at least for newbies, I don't know the answer as I am just learning, but I'd be interested in hearing some opinions on this.
Red Cent Report post Posted June 17, 2016 Putting an acrylic finish on and then trying to get the leather to absorb a conditioner is really counter intuitive. Aussie contains beeswax and is a "resistant" finish besides being a conditioner. I dye and the next day, rub on some Neatsfoot Oil. After I finish the product, I add the M&G.
