Members christiancowboycobbler Posted April 10, 2016 Members Report Posted April 10, 2016 I have seen these on ebay before, but does anyone know where they come from and if they work very well? Looks like a great alternative to pneumatic presses, I just don't know that they are worth the 900+. Thanks in advance for your replies. Quote
Members Hunhunt Posted April 11, 2016 Members Report Posted April 11, 2016 Another option that is less expensive if you aren't making a lot of shoes is the old LA Macker type presses. The pressure is applied through an acme screw thread. They show up on Ebay frequently. I payed less than $100 for mine and have been gathering various press forms for it as they come available. The press works fine. Quote
Members christiancowboycobbler Posted April 12, 2016 Author Members Report Posted April 12, 2016 I have one of those, it does a great job,but only on shoes. I think this one seems to have a leg that is long enough to accommodate boots also, which I can't do on the macker type press. I may go to a machine shop and just see what it might cost to have one built. You would just think that as many home grown footwear people there are, there would be more of these floating around. Quien sabe... Quote
