betelges Report post Posted April 23, 2016 (edited) Goodmorning everybody! I'm writing from italy in order to show you these cobbler/shoemaker tools. Maybe they are "off topic" in your forum but i hope you can tolerate them :-). This is a little preview of a big set of 60+ tools i have recently acquired. The pointed one is marked blanchard, the others have italian marks. Can i ask you the specific use of each one? have you any advice to clean them from rust? Many thx in advance and pardon my poor english Greetings Paolo Edited April 23, 2016 by betelges
chrstn53 Report post Posted April 24, 2016 (edited) The tool on the left is a fudge wheel used to lay down a design on the welt. The other three are glazing irons and the Blanchard is an overstitch wheel but it is missing some parts. Edited April 24, 2016 by chrstn53
KWosnig Report post Posted April 25, 2016 Hi, go to youtube and look for rust removal using vinegar or molasses. Cheap method to de-rust steel or iron. Nice find, I have no idea what all they are, but good luck with them.
