Members erniethemilk Posted July 21, 2016 Members Report Posted July 21, 2016 I'm wanting to try my hand at some different stuff to belts and the like such as note book holders and small toiletry cases and the like but unsure what thickness of veg tan leather to use for these. What would the norm be for this kind of stuff. I normally buy 3mm or so, but guessing this is far too thick - I was thinking maybe 2mm or so. Ideas/suggestions gratefully accepted. Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted July 21, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted July 21, 2016 Usually decided according to the size of the case. A small pocket notebook might be 1.5mm, and a large notebook might be 3mm plus a 1mm lining Quote
Members erniethemilk Posted July 21, 2016 Author Members Report Posted July 21, 2016 Thanks. That's super useful! I can give the 3mm I have a try and see how it works out. I may try and pick up some thinner leather for smaller items such as toiletry cases/cigarette boxes etc. Quote
