A arm brace for turning wood

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have the chance to look at wood turning.

a man sent me a link for a brace, as he uses it for fly fishing due athur-riris.

has anybody made one, or know somebody that made similar?

this would be used with my bad arm whilst wood turning.

using the chisels.

I would think holding the chisels would be Velcro etc.

any help or guidance will be appreciated.

thank you

Hi there I'm a leather worker based in Presteigne Powys, I have made custom arm guards and braces for archery before, very sturdy with extra stiff leather so the arm is basically in a splint.  This may be something I can make for you if you are still interested.

kind regards

May i suggest you contact your local wood turning club or supplier of wood working supplier to see what is available or use, i wood turn as a hobby and when i started out i got loads of advice and was shown how and where to start. Someone in the club maybe able to help design a brace for your kind of turning you wish to do.

I may be able to help with that. My husband and I made ano arm brace for me, as I have frozen shoulders.....it allowed me to work, but kept my,shoulder still enough so as to not cause more injury.

Hello all,

sorry it has took a long time to get back to you.

unfortunately I have been into hospital again, for more treatment.

As you can imagine that the mo all activities are no go.

I really appreciate all your help.

Soon as im fit enough I would like to continue with the hobbies and getting the brace sorted.
