Members eatbeef88 Posted April 20, 2017 Members Report Posted April 20, 2017 I am just finishing a belt I made from latigo leather and am wondering if anyone has any experience or advice for finishing/waterproofing it so it doesn't bleed? Will just using meats foot oil be sufficient? I can't seem to find any resources online. Thanks in advance! Quote
Members Thornton Posted April 20, 2017 Members Report Posted April 20, 2017 Try searching under " nests foot oil". Quote
Members cradom Posted April 20, 2017 Members Report Posted April 20, 2017 I think what he means is neatsfoot oil. Which it shouldn't really need as latigo is already pretty oily/waxy already due to the way it's made. Might be better of with a finish like Resolene or 50/50 Mop 'N Glo and water. Quote
Members Halitech Posted April 20, 2017 Members Report Posted April 20, 2017 first, neats foot oil isn't a finish second, latigo is already about as water resistant as leather gets third, your question has been answered a few times so a search would have found your answer Quote

I definitely meant "neatsfoot" but the autocorrect got the best of me. Thanks for the advice! Quote
