Hi all,

I'm Steph. I live in Australia.

I am about to begin making my first saddle as part of a course I am doing. I am understandably very excited about this. I have so many ideas about what I would like to have.

Now all I have to do is make it all happen. I can hardly wait to start, first class is this Sunday, 3 days away.

My teacher is a man named David Morris and his saddles are just wonderful. But I always like to get morthan one view on things so I hope to be able to ask those with more experience than I have.

So :begging: please stay with me and forgive all silly questions.

thanks in advance Steph

Steph,

David Morris was in Sheridan for Saddle Week this year. I really enjoyed the 4 days spent with him as a fellow student. He is very willing to share what he knows, and that is a LOT!! He can talk about trees, mechanics of fitting trees, and mechanics of putting a saddle together. You will learn a lot. He is a great guy.

Well, Steph, how did it go? Are there other students in your class or are you being taught one-on-one? How many hours go into a saddle class? Did you get a course outline? I wonder where one would even start with such a complicated project as a saddle? Let us know how you like the work and the class, as you can see, I have a million questions.
