Hi there. I'm kind of new to leather work and completely green when it comes to fur.

I am hoping someone knows a way to hide a seam off the edge of fur.

I am making a sporran out of a muskrat pelt and I want the back legs and tail to hang (not part of the pouch) I am concerned that if I stitch off of the edge of the fur the thread will pull the fur flat and ruin the way the fur naturally lays.

Any tips would be great

Thanks

Jeff

I'm trying to figure out how you mean to put it together. Do you intend to make the pouch out of part of the skin and attach the legs and tail separately? Or have it all one piece and leave the legs and tail as a flap on the bottom hanging below the stitch line?
