Antique Singer

Recommended Posts

Yes I was hoping I could find help in finding parts for my 1910 Singer # G883240. Its a treadle head only, This machine was giving to me from a friend an I took it to my local sewing shop to have it cleaned up an gone through an there is a part missing.  The knob that adjust the stitch length is on the machine but the inside piece that does the actual adjusting that attaches to the backside of the knob is missing. Where can I find parts an is there a break down photo's of the inside of this machine for repair purposes?

Your serial number says that you have a Model 27, which is NOT an industrial sewing machine. The only way to find parts for it is to buy another Model 27 for parts.

The best place to find these ancient treadle heads is in antiques malls, Salvation Army stores and Craigslist. I've reconditioned and sold three of them and have one more sitting on a foot stool inside our shop. We use it to sew satin linings that the walking foot machines would eat.

  • I know it is just used to sew my linings. I have a cb4500 for the heavy stuff. I think I will just toss it then. I have a good treadle from 1898 an it sews great. no LOSS

Keep it for parts for the next one that comes along!

This starts you on the slippery slope to being a collector LOL
