Members KingsCountyLeather Posted July 26, 2017 Members Report Posted July 26, 2017 Hi, I have my Singer 138w101 up and running now. to test it on heavy leather I've sewn two pieces of veg tan 7mm thick in total and using 207 thread on top and T135 in the bobbin. I also tried it on lined 4mm veg tan. I'm looking for a bobbin case like the one pictured for the same machine, preferable in Europe somewhere? Thanks. Quote
Uwe Posted July 27, 2017 Report Posted July 27, 2017 (edited) Part numbers are your key to Singer part nirvana. Surprisingly, no part list is available online for the Singer 138W101. Luckily, I have one of these machines and my bobbin case has a decipherable part number stamped on it: 241676 There's one on Ebay in the U.K for £36 - surprisingly expensive for a Singer part. College Sewing in the U.K. also carries this part new, made by Towa, for a little less: https://www.college-sewing.co.uk/store/241676=CP-51F-BOBBIN-CASE-CAP-SINGER-TOWA Edited July 27, 2017 by Uwe Quote

I just love the look of the heavier stitching. Cheers. Quote
