I've been trying to get this color with veg tanned leather but to no avail, any idea how to get this tone without darkening the veg tan leather? It appears theres some sanding to "vintage" it and maybe a little burnishing in some areas to darken but I just cant get this color. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks! Quote

Perhaps if you go buy it yourself you can pick out the lightest colored side. Have you also considered that it might not be cow, but perhaps is a different type of tanned hide? Thats true.. are there methods to take off that shiny look? is there some type of liquid that makes it slightly duller than the reddish skin color of veg tan? Quote
