Welcome Wylee - You guys up in Alaska have a rich heritage of leather working.  Looking forward to seeing the stuff you make on the forum!

The all powerful search bar is your best friend.  You will find the answers to most of your leatherworking questions there (and sometimes even answers to life's perplexing questions).

If you can't find it there, Google, YouTube (you get the point, put a little effort into it first) then feel free to post!  You will get an answer within hours (sometimes minutes)!

Thanks for the welcome! I have seen quite a few holsters and sheaths about but no real supply of leather craft supplies...just Tandy in Anchorage. I have met a lady up here in Fairbanks but she only seems to stock things she uses and again from Tandy. I'm in need of some decent tools and don't mind used, any info or direction would be extremely helpful.

Jake what region are you? I'm south of Fairbanks about 40 miles.

oh ya, down by Birch lake? I've been through that area several times. I'm near Glennallen.

Welcome to the forum.

If you want higher quality and lower prices, you're going to have to pay that big shipping monster.

Weaver has higher quality tools and supplies. They aren't really any cheaper than Tandy, but better stuff.

As far as leather goes, look at the for sale sign in of this site. Some people have made some fine leathers available to us hobbyists pretty cheap.

Good luck.
