kwc280 Report post Posted February 21, 2018 I am currently working on a few items for some cosplayers and I am using 6/7oz for them. One of the items is a mares leg dead or alive style rig with a 2 and half inch wide belt. How good would the same leather be for general purpose use like standard belts and gun holsters or knife sheaths?
bikermutt07 Report post Posted February 21, 2018 You could line your belt and holster making 12-14 oz. That will be a little on the thick side, but should be ok. Especially if you are going for the bold foot forward cosplaying look.
kwc280 Report post Posted February 22, 2018 Yea it's 6/7 for now and after completing it I'm probably going to redo it after this event in 10-13oz on the mares leg part of the rig. The belt is pretty nice at 7 oz from the back cut. I'm considering making a holster for a few of my handguns and may line those with some cheap thin veg tan I have
