Download Leatherwork Books

Recommended Posts

If you have high-speed internet, or are really patient like me (okay, I'm not really patient, but I am on dial-up), this site has some neat old books in PDF format. I found a couple of leatherworking books and a military one on pack transport and one on harnesses which has plans for a stitching horse. Lots and lots of books on other interesting subjects, too. http://www.archive.org/details/texts

Very good link for old books, thanks! Did you searched only by leather, leathercraft, leather craft?

I searched several ways, Candy. It has been a while, but I know I used the words you listed as well as leatherwork. I also used saddlery and harness.

Just did a quick search again and I know I found and downloaded the following books:

Your Leatherwork - Betty Dougherty

LEATHERCRAFT FOR AMATEYRS - ELEONORE E. BANG

The Hobbycraft Series Leather Craft - William H. Johnson

Pack transportation - United States. Quartermaster's Dept

CIS Index to U. S. Executive Branch Documents, 1789-1909, Part 2

Harness repairing - Roehl, Louis Michael, 1881-

Also downloaded many metalworking and history books. Again, lots of good stuff to be found there.

EDIT: Had forgotten about another good site, which has an online book about making an English saddle -
