ksshane Report post Posted August 21, 2006 Just finished this last night. Not much leather work, but there is some leather so I thought you might be interested. Few things I learned on this project. 1. Alligator print cowhide really isnt thick enough to pull on once you punch holes in it. 2. 3M 77 adhisive sticks really well to foam, but not all that well to cowhide. 3. Put long sleeves on if you plan on sanding carbon fiber. Think fiberglass. (I actually knew this one already, but never seem to do it in 110deg weather. So the leather didnt quite set the way I wanted, but all in all I am pretty happy with the end result. freak Report post Posted August 24, 2006 I like the looks but as you've said it needs to be tighter. But hey for a first go at it,,, you did it, rite . That skin is pretty light weight, you might be able to rivet it without punching holes in the leather. Did you make the seat pan aswell ?? Got any pictures of the underside ?
