JazzBass Report post Posted October 12, 2018 I wanted to post a pic or two with my introduction, but - How do I reduce the size of the image (2.7MB) in Iphoto, to make it uploadable? ...geez...my first question isn't leather related. Mac's help was no help. <<groan>> Mea Culpa.
JazzBass Report post Posted October 12, 2018 Got it--- had to email the pic to myself, letting the mail app shrink it. Doh!!
garypl Report post Posted October 12, 2018 I use a free program called Irfanview - very easy to resize pics on your computer. If you want to resize on your phone or tablet try the app named Image Size. It’s free if you want to look at ads or you can pay for not getting ads. JazzBass Report post Posted October 12, 2018 Funny, I do use Irfanview on my desktop, but assumed that iPhoto would have a mechanism to do this on my laptop or iPhone. I'll look to see if Irfanview is available for mac. Thanks
Rockoboy Report post Posted October 12, 2018 I like your luggage tags. They are a good thing to make for practice, because they don't use much leather. Change the initials for all of your family and friends, and you will be a master in no time.
JazzBass Report post Posted October 14, 2018 Thanks @Rockoboy...that's exactly what I did! Those tight curves did indeed turn out to be great practice - and fun to do!
battlemunky Report post Posted October 14, 2018 I use an app called pic resizer that makes quick work of it. @bikermutt07 turned me onto it and it works great.

Sheilajeanne Report post Posted October 15, 2018 If you have a microsoft machine, no doubt you also have MS Paint, which has a picture resizing option. You can choose either pixels or percentage, and once you resize it in one dimension (height or width) the other dimension will automatically be resized by the same amount. I use the mail it to myself option for resizing photos on my phone.
Handstitched Report post Posted October 17, 2018 (edited) I'm still using XP.......don't laugh. Two words....' it works ' I use MS Office Picture Manager. At the top of the page is " Edit Pictures" . At the bottom of the selections is " Compress Pictures" . It reduces the size of the file suitable for emails, uploading etc. Also, I have set my camera to a small file setting, for just that. Luggage tags are good for using up off cuts, scraps etc. for sale or for practice, experimenting, doodling etc. . Key rings & book marks and similar small items are good for that too. Nice HS PS: Theres no such thing as a ' stupid question ' on here. You're amongst friends on here and we're here to help. JazzBass Report post Posted October 18, 2018 Well, I called it a "stupid" question since it had nothing to do with leather crafting! ... didn't expect it to be my first question on the forum. ROFL!! Believe me, for the rest of it, I'll just remain humble, ask beginner's questions when necessary, and learn from all the nice folks here It really is a wonderful community of pros and amateurs, all willing to share. MANY Thanks to all!
