TimVal Report post Posted January 14, 2019 My wife and I just "rescued", ok, purchased a 1908 Singer 16-41 alternating presser foot machine head only with parts. We haven't begun the process of cleaning, etc. But it did come with the original Singer motor, three pulley in the "cage" (actually looks to be more of a speed reducer than a clutch assembly), knee lift for presser foot with brackets, and a box of etcetera. I am interested in how to lay out the various parts under the table. I have looked online and haven't seen it yet, perhaps my search criteria isn't proper. Once we begin to figure out what parts are missing, such as the inner foot, I know we can contact Toledo Industrial for parts. I will post pictures of what we have soon. Thanks, Tim
Wizcrafts Report post Posted January 14, 2019 There was a discussion about this model during 2016, in this topic. Maybe it will answer your questions about this long obsolete machine with many parts made of unobtainium.
TimVal Report post Posted January 14, 2019 Thank you for the help. I had read those discussions prior to purchase and they were quite helpful. This machine will be used to help teach a high school student some mechanics - and us as well. The base to this machine was sacrificed as a table by the last purchaser, I bought what was left over.
