WCJ Report post Posted May 28, 2019 Hi, how are you? I recently acquired an Osborne 85 Krebs style splitter in not so pretty but working condition. I cleaned it up a little and now I'm working on dialing it in. I'm wondering if any of you kind people have any tips, tricks, or advice for me. I got lucky and the previous owner took very good care of the blade so that's one major factor I don't think I have to worry about. This is my first experience using a splitter at all so I'd appreciate any response. For example, how much spring tension should be in the top roller? How much of a blade gap should I be going for? How far out should the bottom roller be from the blade? Did you replace any adjusting screws to improve performance? I'm grateful for any and all replies.
