Mr. Chappell won that competition, as he has three of the last four years. But early last week, a man in his 20s and wearing tennis shoes strolled in to Trail Town Custom Leather and spoke with Mr. Chappell's apprentice, John Glaze, about having a pair of boots repaired. story here: Dallas News The boots were recovered: "The guy wore them into several Western-wear stores," Mr. Chappell said, "so we've got about 10 positive photo IDs of the suspect."
