I have a Politype #3 with treadle stand. It will not complete a stitch. I took it to a reputable sewing machine repair shop. The technician told me it couldn’t be repaired. Too much wear, etc. he said he’s worked on this type of machine and had 30+ years experience. Everything seems to work smoothly but won’t lock the stitch. Anyone have any suggestions for a second opinion source in southern Minnesota?

If you are hoping for replies to your leather sewing machine question, a photo or video of it trying to sew would be more useful than the landscape photo you posted. As beautiful as the scene is, it doesn't show the machine. A close-up of the hook as the needle begins its upstroke would be most useful.
