Members Inoj Posted January 28, 2021 Members Report Posted January 28, 2021 I have just completed a picture painted with fiebings acrylic dye for leather (leather paint) and need to seal it so it won’t flake or crack- is this possible or have I wasted a lot of time. You can see from the photo that the leather already has a finish on it. The leather is upholstery leather. Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted January 28, 2021 Contributing Member Report Posted January 28, 2021 Try a couple of thinned coats of 'Mop and Glo' floor 'polish' which is a water thin acrylic varnish. Preferably sprayed on with an airbrush. I use it to seal the paint on my game boards Quote
Members mpa28 Posted February 1, 2021 Members Report Posted February 1, 2021 Angelus makes excellent sealers for exactly what you've done; painted leather work. You'll probably want the matte finish but it comes in Satin & High Gloss as well. Angelus Acrylic Sealers are available from Angelus Direct, My Wardrobe Supply & Amazon among others. Another choice would be Resolene from Fiebings. Quote
