Sraab813 Report post Posted February 18, 2021 I am considering a project for a hotel out west. They pride them selves on having everything period correct and thus my question. I'm thinking about making a lateher covered guest registery for the hotel and want to tool the cover as well as include the hotels original logo. Does anyone have any examples or can guide me in the right direction to figure out what the tooling style would have been in the late 1800's in California? I've tried to do my own research but have really only found the more modern styles. Please help! And thanks in advance for any and all info you may have. There are some variables to the 'period' southern Cali or northern? What years ? after 1849 gold rush days or before which would be more Spanish influence. Southern Cali in the early 1800s would have had mostly Spanish influence while after the gold rush of 49 and farther north trends would have been more European influence.
