Matara Posted October 11, 2007 Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 R, I do leather full time!( and i wanna see some pics!) And Alex, leather cuff and wristband and leather bracelet are all interchangeable... I think! Quote http://mataradesign.com
Members whinewine Posted October 11, 2007 Members Report Posted October 11, 2007 Sorry to interrupt, but a cuff tends to be larger -look at tandy's[..or hidecrafter's, I forget which], "cowboy cuff pattern pack"- you'll see the difference. They are almost gauntlet or bracer size, vs the wristband, which is very narrow, by comparison (generally 1" to probably no greater than 2"to 3"). This was always my understanding. Quote
steveb Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 hmmm - lots of NY'ers here, as opposed to the wealth of saddle makers and horse/farm western types that usualy inhabit the leather crafter world- FYI- I am a NY'er (born and bred) who bailed and moved to Stamford CT in 90...a move for the better for me... steveb Quote

esantoro Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Do any of you new yorkers, transplants and all, know of a good place in the city to get rivets, buckles, and dees? what about a good place to get 6" skiving blades sharpened? Thanks, Ed Quote http://www.waldenbags.com http://www.waldenbags.etsy.com
Matara Posted October 12, 2007 Author Report Posted October 12, 2007 Hey Ed, I rarely buy anything in the city. I deal with Weaver for 90% of my hardware and leather although i'm looking for alternatives. Steve B, I'll be making that move to the rural parts at some point. I'm sure it'll be good for me too. The city can consume you(me) with the latenights and such. Btw, Great work man! Alex, You too have nice clean work! Quote http://mataradesign.com
Ambassador abn Posted October 12, 2007 Ambassador Report Posted October 12, 2007 Freddie, thanks for the kudos. That's real nice of you to say. BTW, that clutch/cuff combo you have posted on your site is incredible. You really took the lines to the next level on that one with all those curves and recurves. Sweet. Quote
