Back Of Leather Is Tearing Up Shirts (Suspenders)

Recommended Posts

I'm currently using8/9 oz veg tanned leather to make suspenders. I'm stamping it and then planning on using a Eco flo antique and finishing it with fiebings leather sheen (spray one). I wear really soft shirts for work and know the back of the leather will make them all fuzzy. Will it still be like that after I die and finish or do I have to put something else to protect my shirts?

dye the back side (fuzzy side) then burnish the heck out of the back side. Here is a thread with several methods. THe best is to choose the leather with the smoothest flesh side you can find or by pasted leather. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=21578

You can add a pig skin lining to the flesh side.
