Toro 3000 Not Working

Recommended Posts

I'll paste the email I sent to David. Hoping for some help ASAP as I have orders sitting waiting to be stitched.

I replaced the belt on my 3000 with the 3L 34" belt (this is what appeared to be written on the bad one). It went on albeit quite tight. I loosened the adjustment screw on the motor allowing it to give a little. This seemed to be acceptable. When I turned the flywheel it was VERY difficult to turn by hand, but it went. I'm only telling you this in case it is relevant to the next part.

I then unplugged the machine and removed the board in the motor and replaced it with the one you sent me (the motor that was in it would sometimes either chatter/hesitate or sometime nothing at all unless I turned the flywheel a little to get it started). I was careful to replace each connection as I removed it from the old board so I am sure all of the connections are in the proper place. I plugged the machine back in and turned it on. I depressed the pedal and nothing happened. I turned the wheel by hand hoping that would "jump start" it (this is what I would occasionally have to do before) but that did not do anything. I looked underneath and the light on the motor was blinking. It seems I saw somewhere that if the light was blinking to shut it off and wait and it will reset, so I did that. Nothing. I unplugged the machine for a while and this did not work. I repeated these steps several times with no results. The fuse is good.

Any suggestions???

Nylon thread can be cantnkerous and Kink as you say, causing problems.

Try this fix. get a piece of Belly leather about 2ft x 1" and punch #21 or #2 holes in it every three inches. Move your spool of thread away from the machine to a shelf or bench a few feet away and then thread your thread under and over through every second hole(I forgot secure one end of the strap to the self or Bench first) and then onto your machine as normal. This strap should take the kinks out but you may have to experiment with which holes work best. There were a few batches of Nylon sold cheap here in Australia (US origin) because of this and this is how I made them usable. the thread should come out of the last hole without Kinks.

I hope this helps.

Kindest Regards.

Jim Saddler.

Hello BRL, normally when a problem occurs with a Servo Motor, I find that it is much easier to replace the motor, than to change boards. The board may not be compatible. The technology happens so fast that you may have a motor that is no longer produced. Please call me if you need to at 1-866-962-9880, thanks, Steve

Problem resolved! David sent me a new motor and it works better than it ever has. The only issue I have right now is the belt from the motor keeps twisting no matter how much I try to line it up.

Have you tried swaping the belt from side to side. I know that's about as clear as a mud puddle. Make a mark on the right side of the belt take it off and put that side on the left. Your belt may of took the shape of the other motor if was out of line a little. If that fails i would go to a parts store get a new belt and try that. But none of that may help either.
