  • How did you find leatherworker.net?
    internet search
  1. Typical french backpacks use brass loops reinforced brass eyelet in place of buckles. A lot of vintage banking/security bags use the same system. Where do I find the brass loops and brass eyelets to reinforce the hole punched out of the leather?
  2. Hi everyone, I have trouble keeping the solid gold leaf still while stamping individual letters using hand stamp tools (set made by Hanson). I remember seeing a Florentine artisan using some kind of glue to prepare the leather surface, thereby keeping the gold leaf in place. Does anyone have suggestions on preparing the leather surface to make the task easier? I only need to get three letters (my monogram) on the items I made. Thank you for your time helping me with this.
  3. I would appreciate it if someone could help me. Thank you for your time.
  4. I'd like to have some of my wallets gold stamped (pure gold not cheap gold foil). Does anyone know a place(s) that service this work? How much should I expect to pay for this service? I'm in Seattle, WA at the moment. Thanks.
  5. hi Peter, How did you emboss the prints? Care to share? Thanks.
  6. I wonder if I ever get to this level of leatherwork competency. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Thank you for the link. Do these go by any other name? What about the fittings for the corner of a 3D object such as the corner of a briefcase?
  8. Hi Kevin, I'm in California, can these be sourced locally? I'm not sure where to look since the big hardware stores don't carry them. Thanks.
  9. I have a leather writing pad that is tearing at the corners. Can someone help me with a source for the hardwares that can go into the corners to protect it from further damage? Thank you all for your time.
